Our curriculum is varied, broad and rich. We believe it represents the world we live in and provides our children with the experiences, skills and knowledge they need to function as young people and adults in the 21st Century.
Our curriculum is carefully linked to the latest national curriculum and every pupil is taught in line with the national curriculum expectations.
There are also aspects of our provision which we feel enhance learning for our pupils and make for a unique Tubbenden Primary experience; these include

Teachers have developed a curriculum that includes a variety of topics to engage and inspire the children. This is to ensure that that the learning is meaningful and has a purpose. Where possible the teachers are making as many cross curricular links and improvements are being made each term to incorporate the Talk For Writing texts, this will enable the children to make links in their own learning. This approach supports the development of a range of bespoke learning experiences for our children.

Early Years Foundation Stage
The Foundation Stage at Tubbenden consists of three classrooms, with the added benefit of a safe and secure outside learning environment. The Foundation Stage Curriculum consists of six areas of learning: Personal, Social and Emotional; Communication, Language and English; Mathematical Development; Knowledge and Understanding of the World; Creative Development and Physical Development. We try to encourage independence in a safe, caring and well-planned environment both indoors and out.
(Infants Key Stage 1, Juniors Key Stage 2) The school has a statutory responsibility to teach the subjects of the National Curriculum. These are divided into areas of learning which include English, Mathematics, Science, ICT and other foundation subjects. In Key Stage 2, children are also introduced to a modern foreign language. In the Infants children receive 22 hours and 5 minutes actual teaching time per week. This excludes time for registration, assemblies, a mid morning break and lunch time. The equivalent time in the Juniors is 24 hours and 10 minutes.
We have many organised activities taking place at lunch time or after school.
