Meeting the Needs of Pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
SEN Information
Tubbenden Primary School is an inclusive school that offers the following range of provision to support children with cognition and learning difficulties including specific learning difficulties; speech language and communication; social communication difficulties; behaviour, emotional and social needs; sensory, physical or medical needs.
The range of support deployed will be tailored to individual need following thorough assessment by internal or external agencies. It is designed to promote pupils working towards becoming independent and resilient learners and should not be seen in isolation.
Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) for pupils with severe and complex needs
Tubbenden has three classes of pupils with severe and complex needs. These pupils are placed with us by the LBB and have a statement of SEN or an Education Health and Care Plan. The additionally resourced classes are highly specialised learning environments with individual target setting to meet each pupil’s needs. A speech and language therapist supports the children in the ARP one day a week. The teachers and TA’s are experienced practitioners with many years of experience which provides the school with a wealth of expertise and knowledge that is shared with mainstream colleagues.
The school is required to publish the SEN information, outlining how we meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, this is the preliminary draft of the local offer.
