Tubbenden Primary School

Anti-Bullying

Dear Parents/Carers

Tubbenden Primary School does not tolerate bullying. All staff are trained to be vigilant to spot any signs of bullying, including cyber bullying. To improve our practice further, we would like to seek your views on bullying , ways of tackling it and how the school can report to parents. As a result, we have set up a new page on the school website. Here, parents can access different materials related to anti-bullying. We would like parents to leave their views on the web page, for example, by taking part in a short survey or just leaving a comment.

It is important that changes to your child’s behaviour are reported to the school and that we work together to support all children to ensure that they are happy and successful. We have worked hard this year to increase the reporting of unkind behaviour and that the children know who to go to if there are concerns about any behaviour that affects happiness in school. There are worry boxes in the classrooms and there is a direct box in school that Mrs Crawford checks regularly as well as the learning mentor. It is essential that parents also communicate with class teachers about any concerns that may arise and usual email communication is always acted upon.

This year we have implemented Adventure Club and soon to implement peer mediators which will provide more opportunities for the children to support each other at break times and  lunch times.
