Tubbenden Primary School

Coming to TPS

Starting school for the first time is a special step in the life of all children and it is important that the transfer to full time education goes as smoothly as possible.

In the term prior to starting school, children visit their new class to be introduced to their teacher and the other children.  To help your child transfer easily from playgroup or nursery to school, we have produced a booklet called “Starting School at Tubbenden” which gives useful information and helpful advice. We do have an independent nursery on our premises and further details about admission can be obtained from the school office.  Information about the Nursery can be found within the website.

Before your child begins school, parents will be invited to meet their class teacher.  You will be asked to complete a pre-school checklist about your child and be given an “I can do” record sheet for your child to complete at home.  Starting school is an  important step for your child to make and to celebrate this we have a special Book Ceremony to which parents are invited, when we give each of our new entrants an inscribed book to celebrate their joining Tubbenden Primary School.
